New Camper Welcome Guide
Start your pup's journey with us
Welcome to Canine Field of Dreams

We know that starting somewhere new can feel like a big step—for both you and your pup. That’s why we’ve created a simple, guided process to help new campers feel safe, supported, and excited to join in the fun. From a trial day evaluation to small playgroups and personalized care, we make sure every dog has a smooth transition into our camp family.
Camp Enrollment Requirements
To attend camp, all dogs must meet the following requirements:
• Pass a Trial Day
• Be kennel trained and able to remain calm and comfortable without distress, escape attempts, excessive vocalization, chewing, or self-injury
– Dogs unable to kennel calmly cannot be accepted for their own safety
• No anxiety or panic-based behaviors, including separation anxiety or heightened stress responses that place the dog at risk
• No history of escaping or attempting to breach doors, gates, kennels, or equipment
• Dog-friendly and non-reactive toward other dogs and humans
– Dogs who are leash reactive or fence reactive cannot be accepted
• No resource guarding, overstimulation, or behaviors that compromise safety
• Up to date on Rabies, Distemper, Parvo, and Bordetella vaccines
• Must be a recurrent client, attending at least once every 90 days
– This allows camp counselors to remain familiar with each dog’s behavior and safety needs
• Re-evaluation required if:
◦ Absent more than 90 days (trial day required)
◦ Behavioral changes are observed that impact safety
• Senior age limits:
◦ Over 12 years (40 lbs or less)
◦ Over 10 years (over 40 lbs)
• We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue care if a dog’s behavior compromises their safety or the safety of others
The Trial Day
We ask that all families review our Camp Enrollment Requirements prior to booking. If you feel your dog meets these qualifications and Camp sounds like a good fit, you're welcome to proceed with scheduling a trial day
-
Optional tour: You may schedule a 20-minute tour before your trial day.
-
Trial day cost: $49.50 for the first dog, $44.50 for the second dog (taxes and fees not included).
-
Tours during trial: Tours can also be arranged at drop-off or pick-up on your trial day. For the comfort of our client dogs, indoor areas are not open while dogs are present—but a virtual tour is available on our Facilities page.
-
Purpose of the trial: Trials allow us to ensure your pup is calm, relaxed, and comfortable. We cannot accept excessively anxious or vocal dogs, as this disrupts the peaceful environment we provide.
-
What the day looks like: Your pup will spend one-on-one time with Camp Counselors, meet new friends, and enjoy nap breaks to settle in.
-
To make camp feel just like home, you're welcome to pack some of your pup's favorite things-treats, a cozy bed or blanket, their food, or a favorite toy.
-
Communication: We’ll send updates and photos throughout the day. At the end of the trial, we’ll let you know if your pup has been accepted into Camp.
The trial is the first step toward making Canine Field of Dreams your pup’s home away from home!
Ready to Take the Next Step?
If your pup is ready to join camp, here’s how to get started with their trial day adventure:
First: Create Your New Camper Account
-
Fill out your pup’s questionnaire so we can get to know them.
-
Sign the policy acknowledgment agreement.
-
Upload your pup’s vaccination records to your new account (Rabies, Bordetella, and DAPP are required). Your vet can also email records directly to caninefieldofdreams@gmail.com.
-
Request your trial date online (you’ll find the option under “Daycare”). If a date isn’t available, send us a message—we may be able to accommodate. Already planning an overnight camp stay? Be sure to include your travel dates so we can confirm availability.
-
Save a credit card to your account.
After you’ve booked:
We’ll review your account and reach out to confirm your pup’s trial day. If you’d like, you can also schedule a 20-minute tour before your trial to see the campgrounds.
Once we have received notification of your booking request and your account set-up is complete, we will contact you to proceed. If you would like a 20-minute tour prior to your trial date, please let us know.
